We are saved by grace through faith, faith through Jesus Christ, right? (eph 2:8) So i believe that in the old testament they were saved on that same grace and faith in christ. they were saved through faith of christ who had YET to come and today we are saved through faith of christ who HAS come. We share a few things in common; in that i stumbled upon this blog by googling my own name, and I also have been a missionary and hope to be again soon. Your explaination to how the people of the old testament are saved doesn't make much sense to me. Though i do NOT believe the many nations of the old testemant to be damned, i know that christ is the only way by which man can be saved. The law of moses did demand animal sacrafice, however by no means did the blood spilt by these beasts atone for their sins or provide the saving grace neccasary. It merely acted in a simlitude of the day in which the chirst should come and shed his blood for us. It is only through and in the atoning blood of christ that man can be saved. Christ also said that,"except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of god"(john 3:5). The lord cannot lie, all his words must be fulfilled, whether they are said in the old, the new, or even the modern days, all gods' words are retroactive. For he is the same yesterday, today, and tommorrow. These factors are what lead me to believe your explaination is left needing and inadequet. I do believe there is an answer that truely satisfies all gods words. Nevertheless i want to see if this actually works, since i've never posted on a blog before, i hope that we can pursue an uplifting conversation on the matter. let me know, thanks.Kyle M.
