Fall Retreat 2008

Well we just got back from Fall Retreat 2008! Chip Woosley is our student minister and he has done more than a great job with these kids. We took over 20 kids and had some great preaching from Scott Grissom and worship from one of the south's best Michael John.

We went to Barefoot Republic, Kentucky. It was out in the boonies. I'm serious we just kept driving and driving. Now don't get me wrong the place is really nice, for cabin standards. But to me it looked like a place where you could film a good scary movie. It's hard to believe there are still places in America that don't have cell phone coverage, Barefoot Republic is one of those places.

I had talked with a gentleman last week who was a good bit older than me and he was talking about how sore he was and yada yada. I assumed it was because he was so old, I run 12-15 miles a week this will be nothing, I thought... I could not have been more wrong.

I am so sore right now. We played flag football (going up hill), moved chairs, walked up and down hills mountains, built a bon fire with a tree we tore down, stayed up late and woke up early.

It was all worth it though. I got to meet some really cool kids and hang out with some great spiritual leaders.
